Gauge: Using a 6.5mm (K) Crochet Hook and Worsted Weight Yarn 3sts = 1 inch You should use a hook/wool combination that gives you the same gauge. Single Crochet: 1. Each square on the graph is = 1 st in single crochet. 2. Right side rows are worked by following graph from right to left and wrong side rows are worked by following the graph from left to right. Afghan Stitch (tunisian crochet): 1. Each square on the graph is = 1 st using the afghan st. 2. All rows are worked by following graph from right to left and working the stitches off using the same colors Afghan Stitch Background with cross stitch design: These afghans can be done by working the background in the afghan st in any color you would like and then cross stitching the design onto the background. Bobbins: Bobbins are helpful but not necessary. Can you knit these afghans: Yes as long as you use a needle/yarn combination that give you the gauge of 3 sts = 1 ". Afghan Stitch project curling: All afghan st projects curl. The secret is in the edging. The edging on my designs consists of 3 double rows so they will not curl. Should I use single crochet or the afghan stitch: For more detailed designs I recommend the afghan st. Simpler designs work well in single crochet.
